PUMP AND WELL SERVICE COMPANY SINCE 1981

It has been decades since I needed work on my well. In March, I had a broken pipe that fed my irrigation stations. They sent two competent technicians out and had it fixed in a hurry and this was all done while I was out of town. Very trustworthy. So I needed more work done on my pressure tanks. I needed new pressure tanks and a new well pump plus some maintenance on the well. I talked to Frank Kurnik, who is extremely professional knowledgeable and very confident in their ability to make things right. The first person I worked with was Morgan, who was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about pressure tanks and how to read the well. I was at work and he was extremely polite to my wife. He made the assessment and got the job done. Jalen worked so hard to remove and replace the pump. He was there with Jose and Alexis. They all worked clean and safe. The pump refused to come out of the well easy. But he got it done! After the well pump was replaced, Ashton came to the site and reworked the piping that fed my irrigation stations. All of this took less than two days to accomplish. I had no hardships, and I felt very fortunate to be in the hands of such competent individuals. The value of the work was in line and probably in some instances better than most people doing this type of work in Reno as I had researched them all. I strongly recommend this company because of their professionalism knowledge and efficiency and the way they do their work. They show up on time and they get the job done. Great Service. Great Work. Omar in the office was very helpful, got someone out here a couple of hours for diagnosing. Victor and Jose came early the next day, got the old pump, and all the pipe out, and replaced the same day, in the rain no less. Shout out to Alex and Stuart as well. We had Morgan come to diagnose our well and fixed it. He went above and beyond and came back the next day to make sure everything looked good and that the proper cap was on it. We have a well on our property and had no water. Omar and Dakota were terrific. Omar had me send him pictures of various component parts (sensor) and he was able top diagnose over the phone what the problem was. So Dakota showed up with the appropriate replacement part and we had water within a few hours our my call. I can't imagine getting better service.

Amazing Service!! We were having pressure issues with our well, Immediately they were able to schedule us for the very next day. They came out during the crazy huge snow storm we got (2/17/2026) which I honestly thought they would reschedule. Despite the weather conditions, Victor and his crew showed up with had such a great attitude. They found the issue immediately and were able to get us back in service. He took the time to clearly explain what was going on with our well, answered all of our questions, and made sure we understood. Again, these boys were out in the weather with such a good attitude, I am very thankful for them! You can tell they value their customers and the importance of water. The tough weather conditions, the amazing knowledge on wells, the total repair time, the professionalism and positive attitude. 100 out of 5 Stars!! Haven't had pressure issues since!

Well pump died. Our usual company was not available so they referred us to Bruce MacKay Pump. Tech Joe Gildone called for info. Came out the very next morning nice and early. Diagnosed and made repairs quickly. Water back up and running. A few days later pressure tank blew out of the ground. Joe was not available but took my call on a Sunday. We were able to get the other company to do the needed repairs but early Monday Joe called to make sure we were set. He was prepared to come back and get us running. Another company High Desert Drilling referred us so you know they are good when the same trade has confidence. Highly recommend!

While we were the dumdums who didn't check the control box, Bruce's tech was great and helpful. We had no water and assumed our pump went out. We called two places. The first said they'd call us back in 30min (was more like an hour). Bruce answered and quoted us immediately. They also moved things around to get to us within two hours and had us scheduled as quickly as they quoted us. Can't say I've tried others, but I sure did like Bruce's team.

Took forever to get them to come out because I still had water and there were no water calls that had priority. I understand that and that. My swamp in the meantime grew. They came out, dug out a broken pipe and solved the problem. Great guys and great work. Even while being attacked by wasps.

We initially called to ask for information regarding the process involved to raise the well water pressure. After several minutes of conversation we realized it was something we'd needed an expert to oversee and scheduled an appointment. Though we're a rural location William stated there was no problem and would set it for the following business day. However we were called the day prior to inform us they had a time open if we would like to have their technicians out sooner to which we quickly agreed. Otto and Victor arrived exactly at the planned time (a rarity these days with too many businesses unfortunately). They explained the process and upon my agreement made short work of the problem, explaining as they worked. Watching as they set up their truck/equipment it was apparent this is a professional outfit with safety procedures being checked and clear communication throughout to that end. When they were done the pressure was indeed increased and a report was given insofar as the potential well depth as well as the approximate service age/life of the well pump. Too, the area they'd been at was such that one would never realize anyone or anything had been there. We highly recommend them-they are now our only number for our well upkeep.

The water line from the pump in the lake sheared off at a coupling, resulting in no water to the house. Called them around 9 am. They came out that afternoon and made a temporary fix. The temporary fix failed the next morning, but McKay had already scheduled a different crew to come out that morning to make permanent repairs.

It's a complete package they will send out qualified personal that is personal. They gave me back a hot shower in two days. I hope not to have to call them anytime soon but if I have a need I know they will be there.

This is the only company we've used in Gardnerville at our home even though they are located in Reno. we have used them over 15 years. They promptly come out when called, are available to provide help even on weekends by phone. Always professional and courteous. I highly recommend them.

Fast turn around on service request and it's done right the first time. As with most things you get what you pay for.

Update: They called me back and took care of it. Thanks so much. Great service after all. Asked them to come out and service my well pump. They sent out two guys to perform the work and they said they didn't have the parts to perform the work and that they would need to reschedule At that time they provided a quote of around 1,200 for the work. We then rescheduled for a future time but then the work ended up costing over 5k. Not sure how the original quote could be so different from the final quote. The worst part is that I received a bill after I had paid the 5k for the labor from the two guys that came out but couldn't do anything since they didn't have the parts. I've been reaching out to them for the last month with a phone call and e-mails with no response.

A bad leak developed in my irrigation system. Bruce MacKay responded promptly and their representatives recorded the leak via video and the main office was able to diagnose the issue and give me a cost estimate on the spot. They scheduled the service and my leak problem was resolved. I was grateful they responded in a timely manner as I was wasting a good amount of water.

Really fast response for my "no water" call. They were reluctant to dig, and ultimately misdiagnosed a clogged filter for frozen pipe problem, but I will still be calling them when my well supplied water system misbehaves. Best outfit around for this sort of work.

I am very impressed with the service I received from MacKay pump and Well. The technician that was sent was very knowledgeable and reviewed all work that was needed to fix my pump. I had a previous well service (a local Mound House service) that was very poorly done. An inferior pump was install and was shot after 4 years due to installation without a torque boot. The pump basically beat it's self to death in the casing. I observed all work that was done and I know that it was done correctly with exceptional service. This company will be my go to for any future pump work. The bill was exactly what I expected.

Tony and the Bruce MacKay team have gone above and beyond to help me several times with my well issues. They were quick to schedule me in. Over the years I have used several well and pump service companies in the Reno-Carson City area. On the last occasion I had difficulty finding a company that could help me with my pump being out of commission. Bruce Mackay responded promptly and corrected the problem the same day. Their staff was courteous and knowledgeable. The problem was corrected in a fast/reasonable amount of time. The cost was competitive with other companies. If you want fast, honest repair work, give them a try. You'll be pleased as I was.

I was told, we have no water, the tank read 0 psi. Now what, well I did remember Bruce MacKay was on my to call list for any pump or well services. I got a prompt response the next day after explaining what might be the issue, they were great at giving me pointers on what possibilities could be done to remedy the solution. After running around resetting breakers etc. The fast turnaround for a appointment was very welcome. The technician that came out was John, great and very knowledgeable guy. The issue was diagnosed fairly quickly but we ran up against a problem, John's regular vehicle with everything needed was in the shop, luckily the spare vehicle he brought out had enough supplies to complete the temporary fix. Woohoo, I now have water. Now all I have to do is schedule an electrician to make the corrected repairs needed. These guys start charging as soon as they leave the shop, so you will be charged for travel time, this was explained when I made the appointment, so no surprise there. Would I use these guys again, hell yes, because they do everything to help you out to diagnose the problem beforehand so as to avoid charging you, now tell me how many companies will do that for you!

I called am morning and by 1:00 they were at my door. The two men who came were very courteous and professional, James and Dillon. A huge shout out to Bruce MacKay Pump & Well Service for their excellent service!! We recently had our well go out, in the middle of a 100 degree heat spell and since I'm a 4-H leader with 50 head of sheep to water that was a huge problem.....Despite the issues with our home warranty company ( that's a whole other review that will NOT be 5 stars!) I was finally authorized to find a local contractor to come out.....One call to Bruce MacKay Pump & Well Service and help was on the way....they arrived at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon with 2 crews, diagnosed the problem, pulled and replaced the defective pump and we were back in business by 6:00!! The office staff has been wonderful in providing everything needed to make the claim on the home warranty insurance policy .....can't say enough good things about this company....

I called with questions about a broken pump (someone didn't remove the drain plug and the pump froze and cracked). Tony Ruiz answered all my questions over the phone, found me a new part, and was ready for me when I brought in the broken pump a couple of hours later. He looked over the pump to confirm that we came to the right conclusion over the phone, lined me up with a replacement part at the warehouse down the road, and made sure that I was able to get it all fixed up that same afternoon. I was able to install it myself at home that evening. All the advice, evaluation, and hands-on help was provided free of charge - the only thing I had to pay for was the part! It is always a good sign when a business will help out a past, present, or future customer with these relatively small issues without nickel & diming the customer. Called with an urgent issue with a well. They came first thing the next morning. The technician was prepared and knowledgable. He solved the issue very quickly. I highly recommend these guys.

We needed a pump lowered, they quoted the job, arrived on time, did the work as discussed, and did it a bit faster than expected, the bill was lower than expected... Jeff was the guy that came out, he was great to deal with. Would use them again if we needed to.
